Peace on Earth – Christmas Card – Quick and Easy

This is a very simple straight forward card to make. The card base is 14.9cm squared and the layers in alternate colours are 14.4cm squared and 14cm squared, the designer series paper is 13.6cm squared. These are layered up using fast fuse or multi purpose glue, adding the ribbon before adhering to the card base. The size of the topper depends on which sentiment you use. I think you will agree this is a very classy card.

Wee Robin

North wind will blow and we shall have Snow and what will poor Robin do then? Another quick and easy card featuring Stampin’ Up new alcohol pens. I had such fun making this card. The wee bird is so sweet, I love the whole stamp set and I adore the new alcohol pens. They really do blend very easily, I will be using them often. It is so satisfying to stamp an image and then colour it in yourself. The sentiment is from the Hearts Come Home stamp set which is an adorable set.  I have kept this card clean and simple so it is easy to make a batch of them in one go. I generally make 10 or 20 of each card in one go.

For each card you will need

a card base in cherry cobbler – 14.9cm x 10.5cm

whisper white 3 pieces

14.4cm x10.1cm

6.5cm x 6.5cm

3cm x 9cm

Pootles Design Team – Brightly Lit Christmas – Week 4

Gosh here we are towards the end of October already – what fun this stamp set has been! I hope you have enjoyed all the projects from this months design team. I am really impressed with the designs my colleagues have made with the set.

My card this week reflects a little of my sense of humour I think.

Whisper White card blank 14.9cm x 10.5cm

Gold Foil 14.4cm x 10.1cm

DSP 14cm x 9.7cm

I stamped the lamp post onto the Designer Series Paper with versamark and heat embossed with the Gold embossing powder. I then cut out the lamp panels and stuck a small scrap of daffodil yellow behind. I made the lamp sparkle with wink of stella. I layered these using fast fuse. The sentiment is stamped onto a scrap of whisper white and fussy cut. The chosen lady from beautiful you is also stamped with memento black onto a piece of whisper white, coloured with water colour pencils and blended with wink of stella then fussy cut. They are both adhered with multi purpose glue. The star embellishment is stuck on with a glue dot and then I made a trail shape with multi purpose glue and sprinkled the sequins over the glue.

Pootles Design Team – Brightly Lit Christmas – Week 3

How quickly are the weeks IMG_3050going? I am so pleased to bring you my week 3 project for Pootles Design Team October 2017.

Along with the Brightly Lit Christmas Stamp Set I have used Christmas around the World Designer Series Paper.
This is a very simple card to make but I think you will agree it is very colourful and the paper coordinates well with the card. The pattern does remind me of tartan and Scotland where I live but the wooden soldiers suggest German made toys from childhood (I’m very old, I know).

Don’t forget that the offer is still on for Designer Series Paper – Buy 3 packs get another free! Check out the offer on  my online shop

Pootles Design Team – Brightly Lit Christmas – Week 2

I really enjoy taking part in Pootles Design Team challenge – gets my brain engaged a bit! I hope you enjoy seeing what myself and my fellow demonstrators have all come up with using the same stamp set.

Week 1 didn’t publish on time and its very short. I unexpectedly ended up in hospital for a few days so I was unable to sort it out. I have published it now if you want to have a wee look.

Look at this wee cat gazing out at the winter sky – Christmas magic is happening. I really enjoy making these build a scene cards. I have only used 2 colours in total but I think I got a good effect. I hope this inspires you to have a go at masking and sponging, you don’t have to have the sets that I have used. Just mask of a moon and get sponging and build up your own scene, let your imagination take over.

Method

The card base is night of Navy – 14.8cm x 10.5cm

whisper white – 10.1cm x 14.4cm

I used my 2.25 inch circle punch to cut out a mask from a post it note. Stick to circle mask where you want the moon to be then using night of navy ink sponge over the whole piece of card until you have the look you want. Remember you can add more ink but you can’t take it away easily so build up lightly.

Remove the mask and gently sponge moon with daffodil yellow unevenly to give an impression of craters.

With Night of Navy Stamp the lamppost where you want it, add a greeting and Santa. Add a punched out night of navy cat with dimensionals. I used card fron builder dies to make a tree stencil to create the wee group of trees in the foreground. Use daffodil yellow watercolour pencil and wink of stella to illuminate the street light. Stick this onto the card base with snail and its done. Great fun!

Pootles Design Team – Week 1 – Brightly Lit

Wow – I’m so excited to have been picked for Pootles Design team for this month October. For four weeks myself and my fellow demonstrators will showcase the stamp set – Brightly Lit.

Method:

To make the card I cut a card blank from an A4 sheet of real red – cut in half lengthwise and then folded in half.

Basic black cut to 10.1cm x 14.4

Designer series paper cut to 9.7cm x 14cm

Stick the DSP onto the black then wrap the beautiful ribbon around this just how you want it using some snail on the back to hold it in position. Layer this onto the card blank with snail.

On a half sheet of Whisper White I randomly stamped with Garden Green and Real Red ink and stamps from the Brightly Lit Christmas set. It is 2 part stamping for the wreath and the parcel.

Confession: I didn’t make a great job of lining up the lights on a couple of the wreaths which led me to put bling on the wreaths. All the best ideas come from happy accidents!

from the stamped sheet cut a piece 14cm x 4.5cm and layer that onto a piece of basic black 14.4cm x 14.9cm stick this onto the card where you want it.

Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of whisper white, cut it out and layer onto a scrap of basic black to make a banner then pop this onto the card using dimensionals.

Using a small piece of the ribbon tie the wee embellishment to the ribbon on the card. Embellish the wreaths with Black Rhinestone Jewels .

I really hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
