Sampler card with Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper

I adore this Designer Series Paper and I have been using it a lot – I came up with this idea to use up some of the scraps. I cut the squares using the Stitched Shapes Die Set. When I was a little girl I was given a flower press and I really enjoyed collecting flowers to press, I learned to enjoy looking more closely at the detail of each flower and began learning the names of flowers. This paper reminds me of all the happy hours I spent wandering by riversides and hedgerows picking bunches of wild flowers.

Measurements:

Mossy Meadow base card 14.5 cm squared – 29cm 14.5cm card folded in half.

layer of canvas pattern Designer Series Paper 14 cm squared

I cut the nine squares from scraps with the stitched shape dies – the second smallest square.

The flower is made from the pressed petals washi tape and the happy birthday sentiment is from the magnolia blooms stamp set.

Method:

Really just stick every thing together.

stick the large piece of designer Series Paper onto the card base

arrange the nine squares onto that and stick down

stick the flower onto one of the squares and stamp the sentiment onto another square.

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop July 2019 Birds, Butterflies and Balloons! Box Frame.

Thank you so much for coming to our Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop for July 2019! You are most welcome – come in, get yourself a brew and get comfy as you are in for a treat. Myself and some other demonstrators show you our home decor projects for this month.

Oh my goodness I’m so excited to be taking part in this Blog Hop today. This is my first time taking part in a Home Decor Hop. The ladies in this group make some amazing projects and I hope my Box Frame Sampler comes up to standard!

Measurements:

Designer series paper 9 x 9 inches

6 squares in blackberry bliss 2 & 5/8ths inches squared – I used the largest square from Stitched Shapes dies

6 squares in whisper white 2 & 1/8th inches squared – I used the 3rd largest square from Stiched Shapes dies

2 rectangles in Blackberry Bliss 4 x  2&5/8th inches – I used Rectangle Stitched Dies

2 rectangles 3 & 5/8ths x 2& 1/4 inches – I used Rectangle Stitched Dies

half a sheet of Whisper White.

Method:

I stamped on the whisper white shapes and coloured them – I kept a tight four colour pallette of Blackberry Bliss, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow and So Saffron.

I then layered the Whisper White layers onto the Blackberry Bliss layers. I adhered the DSP to a piece of the white backing card that came in the pack of Designer Series Paper then arranged and adhered the squares and rectangles onto the Designer Series Paper.

I stamped, coloured and punched out some air balloons and butterflies to decorate the piece with fixing them with dimensionals and glue dots. The completed piece was then fitted into the frame. I used a 9 inch Ribba box frame from Ikea.

If you would like a video tutorial of how I made this please let me know and I will record one.

I am predominately a card maker but I do enjoy Home Decor projects. I do hope you like my project but I know you will love all the projects by my fellow hoppers – please click on the links below to see what the others have done. Please check out our projects and blogs and leave us some encouraging comments.

#simplestamping – A quick, simple, pretty card with Stampin’ Up! Pop of Petals stamp set.

You wouldn’t believe how easy this card is but isn’t it pretty and I just love this Blueberry Bushel colour. So crisp and clean. the stamp is from the Pop of Petals stamp set. Its a little trio of flowers which i have stamped randomly over the card leaving a wee margin on the bottom for a sentiment. I have chosen the Happy Birthday sentiment from Magnolia Blooms which is a gorgeous wee stamp set itself. I chose it because it fitted nice in the space I had.
