Christmas Home Decor project featuring Poinsettia Petals

Just a quick wee post to let you see my latest Christmas home decor project.

I bought a paper mache cone from my local craft superstore to make this project. i cut strips of green designer series paper and glued them to cover the cone. I cut lots of poinsettia layers with the poinsettia dies using all the different red papers and card stock. I then layered up the flowers and arranged them on the cone. i added pearls and sprigs from the forever laser cut paper and topped with a gold star made with two stitched stars die cuts and the gold foil sheet.

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop – Framed picture with See The Good and Tasteful Touches stamp sets #stampinup

Welcome to our Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop for July 2020! I hope you enjoy our designers choice hop.

This was my first play with See The Good stamp set. I cut an 8 inch square from a 12 x 12 sheet of Whisper White and I stamped with the Stamparatus. I kept moving the card round using one stamp at a time. It was fun and at the time I didn’t know I would end up with a piece I would want to frame but once I stopped I really like it. I think it would be nice in a Kitchen. I also used the flower stamp from the Tasteful Touches stamp set.

I couldn’t make up my mind when to stop as you can see from these next pictures. As you can see I used the sentiment stamps for texture and pattern rather than what they say.

Nicky’s Large Card Folio #stampinup

So I have a craft sharing group on Facebook and a couple of weeks ago one of my crafting friends posted a these pictures of a card folio she had made for a relative.

I decided to give it a go and there is a video of me doing just that further down this post. Nicky kindly gave me her measurements and permission to do a tutorial for you all. The measurements are further down this post.

I found when I moved the folio that the cards fell out so I made these 1 inch wide straps to keep them in. I have used neodymium magnets to keep them closed and also on the flap.

A Wee Gift Box using scraps of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper #stampinup

scored on the long side at 1.5 inches, 5 inches and 6.5 inches

scored on the short side at 1.5 inches, 3 inches, 4.5 inches and 6 inches

4 panels of Designer Series Paper 1 3/8 ths x 3 3/8ths and 1 square 1 3/8ths x 1 3/8ths inch.

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop September 2019

Welcome to our Home Decor S U Style Blog Hop for September 2019! I hope you enjoy our designers choice hop.

When I saw the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper I knew it needed to be framed! I have used a whole sheet and embellished it a bit with some stamping and heat embossing then mat and layered it with Night of Navy and Seaside Spray onto a piece of the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper. I also added a few snowflakes cut with Frosted Frames in Sparkle Glimmer Paper. Really simple but I love it in the white frame.
