Another month another bloghop! the theme this time was chosen by the amazing Hannah. It’s a Sketch Challenge. I decided to stick quite close to the sketch structure and I’m quite pleased with the outcome although at first it made me feel quite uncomfortable. My circle is proportionally a bit bigger than the one in the sketch so i had to set it quite high – this disturbed me a bit but I forced myself to keep going and I’m glad I did because once I went away and then came back to it I actually liked the result.

 

I used the Southern Serenade Stamp Set with the gorgeous Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper which i am in love with. I was so lucky to win a pack of this paper at the Scottish Demonstrators Day so watch out for more cards featuring this. The tufted embossing folder gives amazing results. The little heart is cut from a die from the take out thinlets set. See below for a list of all the products I have used.

The base card is an A4 sheet cut in half long ways and folded in half. crumb cake cardstock

The first layer is 14.4cm x 10.1cm – Blackberry Bliss cardstock

the second layer is cut from DSP 9.5cm x 7cm.

Well here we are again another new catalogue another Pootlers Blog Hop wow! This time we are showcasing projects from the Autumn/Winter catalogue 2018.

 

My followers know that I am a tree lover and will know that as soon as I saw the new catalogue I absolutely fell in love with the Winter Woods stamp set. So of course I needed to use it in this blog hop! I have embossed it in copper and am delighted with the result despite the fact that a little of the definition is lost with the embossing. I have teamed it up with copper leaves trinkets and Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper.

So yesterday (Saturday 1st September) I was involved in a special day for Stampin’ Up! Independent demonstrators in Scotland. I pushed myself right out of my comfort zone and did a technique demonstration for them all! I was super nervous beforehand but I’m sure they will have enjoyed it and they are all lovely so will embrace my mistakes and gibbering. 🙂 I demonstrated 3 cards and then the ladies all had a go at masking. I made use of all the leaf stamps in the ‘Rooted in Nature’ set.

Card One

1. For this card you need a card base from thick Very Vanilla. I cut an A4 sheet longways at 10.5cm and fold it in half for a tent fold card.
2. Cut a panel from thin Very Vanilla 10.1cm x 14.4cm
3. Die cut or punch a mask from a post it note and place where you want it on the panel.
4. Stamp all over the panel overlapping the mask firmly as much as possible.
5. Carefully remove the mask and stamp your sentiment in the space.
6. Pull the panel edges carefully through the ink pad taking care not to damage the ink pad.
7. Stick the panel to you card base – Voila

Card Two

1. Cut a card base from thick Very Vanilla. I cut an A4 sheet longways at 10.5cm and fold it in half for a tent fold card
2. Cut a panel from Blackberry Bliss 10.1cm x 14.4cm and a panel from thin very vanilla 9.7cm x 14cm.
3. For the second card use a piece of thin copier paper to make a mask.
4. Secure the mask using post it notes or tape – great job for retired washi tape!
5. Stamp firmly inside the circle this time – overlapping the mask
6. Remove the mask and stamp the sentiment mat and layer together and accent with some sequins.

Card Three

1. The 3^rd card is made with a card base from Mango Melody and a matt of Blackberry Bliss.
2. Punch a mask from post it note
3. Stamp the top layer of a wreath out from the mask.
4. Stamp the leaves onto post it notes over the sticky bit and cut them out. Mask over the top layer and stamp the other layers by repeating the masking process.
5. Remove your masks, add a sentiment.
6. Matt and layer the card together then add a bow and a trinket

I have been so lucky to be working with some other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to organise a day of crafting and business training for Demonstrators living in Scotland. In the process I have made some new friends and will make more on the day. On the day I have agreed to lead a stamping activity which I will show you later this week. I am really nervous about it but I know that all the lovely demonstrators will be patient with me and forgive the imperfections.

One of the things that we do when we get together is to make projects to swap with each other to share inspiration. So there are 44 of us registered for our Celebrating Scotland Day

On the day that I sat down at my craft desk to think about what i was going to make for my swaps I had just received my dashing deer bundle. I decided that I would do something with that. I had already bought enough highlighter pens for everyone.

I randomly stamped on 12 A4 sheets of very vanilla using the 2 small deer from the set and a little flower, also 2 stamps from the winter woods set.

I cut each sheet into 4 pieces each 7.4cm x 21cm. each piece was scored at 1 inch and 2.25 inches
