Inspireink June Bloghop – Milestone Birthday

Oh my goodness this year is flying past – here we are with another Inspireink Bloghop and the theme is Milestone Birthday. Our lovely Nigezza picked this month’s theme.

I had to think a bit about this one as the obvious sets have now retired, so I explored the Make a Difference stamp set from the Share What You Love suite. I have teamed the Beautiful You stamp set with the Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.

I cut a piece of A4 Berry Burst on the short side at 14.9 cm and folded it in half to give a square card base.

The Designer Series Paper layer is 14.4 cm x 14.4 cm

I have embellished the card with a pearlized doily, and some of the lush velvet ribbon. I’m rather pleased with the result – I hope you like it too.

I will put a method video up later – once every one has had a chance to get around the hop.

Use the next button below to see the next project. Well that is what should happen but I’m having a techie problem so please click the link  below to get to my lovely friend Sally’s fabulous project. Please have a look around the hop and leave some encouraging comments

Pootler’s Team New Catalogue Blog Hop

How fast does time go? Here we are with another fabulous new catalogue to showcase. I love being part of the Pootler’s team and being able to take part in our blog hops and see what all my talented fellow demonstrators can do.

The theme is New Catalogue Goodies so I chose to showcase the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The moment I saw this folder I knew I had to have it!

It was really hard to decide what to do – in the end I decided to a very simple to make card. The foil sheets emboss really easily and I’m really happy with the resulting card – I really hope you do too.

For the sentiment I stamped and heat embossed the lovely greeting from the Beautiful Day set which is glorious.

I am holding embossing classes this month – please get in touch for dates, times and prices. Let me know if an online class would work for you.

this is the video with the method

Please enjoy a look at all the projects from my colleagues – they are all amazing.

Inspire Ink Bloghop – Funfair/Carnival – Ferris Wheel Card

Oh what a fun theme for May. Happy memories of summer evenings at a funfair – in Scotland we call a funfair ‘the shows’. My friends and I would go to the shows with a few shillings and have a wonderful evening. The music, the smell of burnt sugar and hot dogs were all part of the experience and even today those sounds and smells evoke happy memories. Oh to be young again – apparently I’m on the brink of my second childhood!

I love the challenge of different themes set by other people and having to decide how I will interpret the idea. In my card I have used 2 Stamp Sets that I have had for a while but not used recently and combined them with the new in colours and a beautiful pearlised doily from the Share What You Love suite.

Stamp sets: Lift me Up and Thoughful Banners

The card base is in Basic Black

A4 card cut in half longways at 10.5cm and folded in half to give a tent fold card

The stamped and die cut elements are stuck directly onto the card base.

cutting the doily: This picture should help – cut away the coloured parts.
