Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop July 2020 – Monochromatic with Timeless Tropical, Beautiful World and Wildly Happy #stampinup

Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop July 2020 – the theme is ‘Monochromatic’. I’m so glad you have joined us and you will be as excited as me to see all the pages in this hop.

So this is my second entry to this hop with my very first layout with real people and memories. While I was considering what monochromatic meant I remembered about a photo book that had been found by one of my Dad’s sisters in what was their family home where they grew up. He must have left it behind when he left home. These pictures invoke all sorts of emotions for me and I wanted a way to share them with the whole family. As I am a beginner I have kept this layout very simple but I think it gives us a little window on Dad’s time in the jungle.

I have used a sheet from In good Taste Designer Series Paper which is mostly Basic Gray and textural, I stamped on it with Basic Gray using stamps from Timeless Tropical, Beautiful World and Wildly Happy. I chose 8 pictures and 1 scrap of whisper white card stock and cut them to 6.8 cm squares and matted  onto 7.2cm squares of basic black card stock. I arranged them in this grid pattern as i see it a symbolic of a windows into the past. All the products I have used are available to purchase from my online shop by clicking on the product pictures listed at the bottom of this page.

Oh my goodness I thoroughly enjoyed this process – it is so therapeutic I am already working on a layout with pictures of my maternal granny. This journey has only just begun!

I hope you will stay and have a look at all the pages in the hop. Make yourself a cuppa, get comfy and click below to see Sandra’s page which I know will be amazing!

InspireInk Bloghop May 2019 Retiring Set – Dragonfly Dreams

So this month’s InspireInk theme is retiring favourites. I have a lot of favourites from last year’s catalogue so it was quite hard to narrow down my choices.

I am sad to say goodbye to this lovely paper – I have gone through several packs of it this year. I have also loved Dragonfly Dreams stamp and die set – dragonflies are amazing insects and so are bees. Although it is hard to say goodbye to some fabulous sets I am really excited to share this year’s Annual Catalogue it is so full of gorgeousness!

Please come back tomorrow to see a method video for this card. Please click below to see what my blog buddies have done – I know there will be some amazing ideas here for you. Please encourage us by leaving us some comments we really appreciate your support.

Painted with Love – simple Valentine’s Card

I’m really thrilled with this card – it just evolved from playing around stamping embossing and die cutting bits from this suite on some card scraps i had. you really don’t need a lot of supplies for this one. The photograph doesn’t really do it justice.

The base card in basic black or night of Navy is a sheet of A4 cut in half then folded in half

A layer of pink card 14.4cm x 10.1cm – i used Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride

then a layer the same colour as the base card 14cm x 9.7cm

A piece of pink to stamp and emboss on for the heart.

A piece of whisper white 14.4cm x 10.1cm for the liner.

Watch the video below for the method.

Pootles Blog Hop – Spring Summer Catalogue 2018 – Petal Passion Thank You card

I’m delighted to be taking part in this first Pootles Blog hop of 2018. The Theme for this hop is the 2018 Spring/Summer catalogue which can be ordered from 3rd January 2018 through to 31st May 2018.

I am doing a series of Blog posts and video tutorials during the first 13 weeks of this year. Each week I will concentrate on a Suite from either the spring/summer catalogue or the annual catalogue. Each week will start on a Sunday so I am calling the series ‘Sunday Suites’.

This project starts this weeks Suite off – I have chosen Petal Passion Suite this week from page 22, 23 and 24 of the 2018 Spring Summer catalogue.

Method:

cut a card base from Berry Burst 10.5cm x 21cm folded in half to form a tent fold card.

Pool party card cut to 10.1cm x 14.4cm and run through big shot using one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions embossing folders. Before sticking this to the card base i attached the ribbon using fast fuse.

I stamped the pretty flower from the petal palette stamp set, coloured it with berry burst and lemon lime twist Stampin’ Write Markers and wink of Stella then cut it out with Petals and More Thinlits Dies.

I cut the branch from lemon lime twist card with the thinlits and built up the composition below using the die cuts, ribbon and the embellishments.

Finally the sentiment from Petal Palette stamped on Pool party and punched out with classic label punch.

I hope you like this and if asked I will do a you tube video tutorial.

I was asked to here it is!

Click on the links below to see all the other wonderful projects from my fellow demonstrators. I can’t wait to see them all myself -I know they will all be fab – prepare to be amazed!

New Catalogue Hop June 2017

June 2017 New Catalogue Blog hop – well nearly!

I will become a regular blogger! I’m starting to enjoy it and find my way around the site. Still loads of widgets and plugins to add ahahaha! I need to find out what a Ninja Form is too!

However I do know what a permalink is so with that I can take part in blog hops and I’m thrilled to be taking part in this years New Catalogue Hop with this cheerful wee card. This card is almost too simple but I think very effective.

Unfortunately this post didn’t make it to the blog hop due to a wifi failure while I was on holiday but I have published it now so that you can at least see it. – maybe next time I will be successful.

I have used a card from Color Theory Memories and More cards and a sheet from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack on a Crushed Curry card base and added a greeting from Beautiful You stamped with Early Espresso on Whisper White and punched with Pretty Label, then backed with Crushed Curry.
